Sedation
We can provide nitrous oxide for anxiety and analgesia (numbing), prescribe alprazolam for anxiety and even utilize deeper forms of IV sedation under the care of a nurse anesthetist.
Nitrous Oxide and Xanax (alprazolam)
Nitrous Oxide is great for relaxation and pain control. Additionally, its very safe and you don't need a separate driver as the nitrous clears your system very quickly. Great for kids and shorter cases like a crown, filling or even a cleaning. Alprazolam can also provide the benefit of anxiety relief, but does require a driver as this oral medication (a tiny pill) stays in your system longer.
IV Sedation
IV Sedation is a deeper form of sedation in which we enlist the services of a nurse anesthetist on site for safe, deep sedation. You will normally wake up feeling refreshed and without having to experience the sights, sounds or smell of dental work. Often, more work can be done at one appointment-this helps for anyone who has put off dentistry for years out of fear of going to the dentist.
